Calgary · at the foot of the Rockies
FreeBrea is a small room for breathing, gentle movement and deep rest. Seventy-five minutes. No contracts. Tea after.
Breathe in as the line grows. Out as it settles.
What we believe
Life happens between one breath and the next. So does freedom.
The hour
Breathe first, then move the body, then rest — deeply. Every class follows the same path, and ends with the same three words.
到
Arrive10 min
Shoes off, phone silenced and put away, a cup of warm tea. Find a mat or a chair. The light comes down.
松
Release15 min
Slow, supported shapes from yin and restorative practice — until the body stops asking for attention.
息
Breathe10 min
The breath slows and the out-breath grows a little longer — gently, never held, never forced. The light and sound of the room rise and fall with it.
观
Observe25 min
Lying down or sitting, doing nothing. Thoughts and feelings come and go; you neither push them away nor hold on.
归
Return15 min
Slowly bring this state back into the body and out into the world. The hour ends with three words: You’re back.
This winter
Our first season: six pop-up sessions. Dates are proposed while we confirm rooms and a teacher. Join the waitlist and you will hear first.

Between visits
Four quiet tools for your phone. No account, no scores, no streaks. Add them to your home screen and they work offline.
The library
Breath, rest, mind, body, nature, and the old ideas from East and West that say the same thing.
The body has its own brake pedal, and it is pressed on the way out. A short, honest account of what slow breathing does — and what it doesn’t.
Notice3 min read
Lying still and awake, with attention resting in the body. How deep rest differs from sleep, and what the small studies can and cannot say.
Notice3 min read
Two short in-breaths through the nose, then one long out-breath. What a sigh is for, what one small study found, and what it cannot tell us.

Three places
Where the method lives. Light, sound and scent change with each passage, and a few strangers breathe quietly together for an hour.
The same scent, the same soundscape and a few small things carry the practice from tonight to tomorrow morning.
Every country has its mountain. Ours is an hour away: clean air and cold water in the Rockies, for retreats in every season.
Things
A few objects grown out of the room — starting with the tea we pour after class.
Tea
The cup after class, to take home.

From the founder
The caves have no technology at all. People walk in and fall silent on their own.
For twenty-two years Jake Lin built experience centres for thousand-year-old cave sites in China. FreeBrea grew out of what those years taught: technology at its best brings people back, then steps aside.

Our technology has one job: less screen, less worry, a faster way back into the body. The room senses breath without cameras. We say “the room breathes”, not “AI”.
Success is when you no longer need reminding. A companion you cannot leave is a new kind of cage.
Your breath record belongs to you: processed on the device where possible, exportable and deletable at any time.
No annual contracts. Stop any time; unused money comes back. No streaks, no push, no “we miss you”. You return only because you want to.
