Seventy-five minutes that belong to you

One session, Breath & Rest, taught the same careful way each time. Our first season is a pop-up: six sessions in borrowed rooms around Calgary — community halls and small studios — sixteen people at most. A room of our own comes later, only if the sessions earn it.

A quiet room in warm afternoon light: a linen floor cushion, a folded blanket and a small cup on a wooden stool.

The session

Breath & Rest

Most of it happens lying down, or sitting if you prefer. No experience, flexibility or special clothing needed. Mats, chairs, bolsters, blankets and eye pillows are here. Open your eyes, sit up or pause whenever you like.

  1. 到

    Arrive10 min

Shoes off, phone silenced and put away, a cup of warm tea. Find a mat or a chair. The light comes down.

  2. 松

    Release15 min

Slow, supported shapes from yin and restorative practice — until the body stops asking for attention.

  3. 息

    Breathe10 min

The breath slows and the out-breath grows a little longer — gently, never held, never forced. The light and sound of the room rise and fall with it.

  4. 观

    Observe25 min

Lying down or sitting, doing nothing. Thoughts and feelings come and go; you neither push them away nor hold on.

  5. 归

    Return15 min

Slowly bring this state back into the body and out into the world. The hour ends with three words: You’re back.

Your first visit

Three small rituals

  1. 1

    Doors open thirty minutes before

Arriving is part of the session. Shoes off, phone silenced and put away, a cup of warm tea.

  2. 2

    Doors close when we begin

So that the hour stays whole for everyone inside. If you are late, the next one is yours.

  3. 3

    Tea after, if you like

Ten quiet minutes together after the session. Nobody has to talk, and nobody will sell you anything.

Our policy

No annual contracts. Ever.

  • This season you simply pay per session. Nothing to join, nothing to cancel.
  • Can’t come after all? Tickets are refundable up to 12 hours before the session.
  • If we add passes later, they will never renew on their own, and unused visits come back at the price you paid.
  • Gift cards never expire. No streaks, no reminders that you haven’t come. You return only because you want to.

Is it for me?

Before you come

I have never done yoga or meditation.

Good. Nothing here is a test. Most of the session is lying down or sitting, breathing at your own pace, guided step by step.

I have an injury, or I am pregnant.

Tell the teacher when you arrive; every shape has a gentler version, and a chair is always an option. If you are pregnant or managing a health condition, check with your doctor first.

Is this therapy?

No. We look after breath, body and mood, but we are not therapists and we do not treat conditions. If you need more support, we will point you to people who can help.

Do I need to bring anything?

Comfortable clothes and warm socks. Everything else is here, including tea.

Is the room scented?

No incense, no diffuser. One scent waits by the door for anyone who would like it.

Is there a session in Mandarin?

One is planned for the first season, once we have found the right Mandarin-speaking teacher. Say so on the waitlist and we will write when it is set.

Can my company book a session?

Yes — team sessions begin after our first public season. Write to us from the Work with us page.
